Safety netting

Fall arrest safety nets are one of the best ways to protect workers carrying out work at height by the UK/ Irish Health and Safety executive.  An overall safer and cost-effective option.  Safety nets protect workers on site. They prevent fatalities and serious accidents when working at height.

The UK Health & Safety Executive regard nets as their “preferred method of fall arrest when working at height”.

Our safety nets comply with stringent European regulations and are annually tested in laboratories to ensure their robustness.

It is important that in order to work as an effective system we ensure the following points are adhered to:

  • Rigging is carried out by riggers who are fully qualified, hold IPAF and manual handling qualifications.
  • Equipment is systematically maintained.
  • The safety nets used by NCM Safety are fitted as close to the work position as possible By fitting safety nets so close to the working level they minimise a fall and offer a collective level of protection which voids the use of harnesses and lanyards.

A collective compliant approach to safety

  • NCM Safety supply and install fully compliant nets to BS EN 1263:1 2002 and rig nets to BS EN 1263-2:2002.

  • BS EN 1263-1:2002 – Safety requirements and test methods (manufacture)

  • BS EN 1263-2:2002 – Safety requirements for the positioning limits (installation)

  • BS 8411 2007 – Code of practice covering the use, selection, and specification of safety nets.
